The difference between a peristaltic pump and a syringe pump is that the two sample injection methods are different. The syringe pump sucks or discharges liquid through the movement of a piston like a needle. It is generally more accurate than the peristaltic pump and easier to operate. The peristaltic pump uses the elasticity of the rubber tube to absorb or remove liquid, and there is a problem of decreased accuracy caused by the aging of the hose.
Advantages of syringe pump:
The injection accuracy of injection is one order of magnitude higher than that of the peristaltic pump, which can realize the function of automatically preparing the standard curve and improve work efficiency.
Disadvantages:
1 The injection unit wears quickly, and the service life is shorter if the sample volume is large. The domestic injection unit is of poor quality and the imported cost is higher.
2 The injection and sampling pipeline is more complicated, which causes easy pollution, relatively large memory effect, and more difficult to clean.
3. If the injection system sucks in and introduces bubbles and remains in the tube, it is generally difficult to completely eliminate it and cause inaccuracies in the injection, especially the position of the multi-position valve and the sample storage ring, which is particularly prone to bubbles.
4. The reagent consumption is not less than that of intermittent flow injection. The working procedure of the syringe pump is to perform a measurement procedure first, followed by a cleaning procedure. In fact, this cleaning procedure consumes a lot of reagents. You can set the cleaning process yourself. If you are worried that the cleaning effect will not be achieved, you can only use the default cleaning program.
Advantages of peristaltic pump:
The structure is simple, the maintenance is convenient, and the cost is low. The consumable part is the pump tube. If you pay attention to applying silicone oil, it can generally be used for about 2 years.
Disadvantages:
Injection is not as accurate as injection. Because there are many unstable factors for peristaltic pump injection, the first is that the peristaltic pump motor is affected by the unstable voltage, which causes the rotation of the peristaltic pump to be unstable, and the second is that the compression of the pump tube will cause the change of the injection volume.
