Peristaltic pumps are generally used to pump clean/sterile or corrosive fluids without exposing these fluids to contaminants from exposed pump components. Some common applications include pumping intravenous fluids through infusion equipment, blood separation, corrosive chemicals, high-solid slurries and other materials, where the product is isolated from the environment, and the product environment is critical. It is also used in heart-lung machines to circulate blood in the hemodialysis system during bypass surgery, because the pump does not cause significant hemolysis.

Peristaltic pumps are also used in various industrial applications, especially agriculture, because they are very suitable for common agricultural chemicals. Its unique design makes the roller pump especially suitable for pumping abrasives and viscous fluids.

Application of peristaltic pump in deep water sampling

Sampling and testing of deep water is often used in the environmental protection industry and chemical industry. Among them, objective reasons such as uncontrollable underwater environment and variable depth requirements have caused the problem of deep water sampling.
Traditional underwater sampling and testing uses a vertical or plexiglass water collector. The working process is as follows:
① Equipped with corresponding weight sinker-device sinking
②The sinking water flows continuously through the sampler
③After reaching the predetermined depth, the container is closed
④The water sample collection is completed, and the sample rises to retrieve it
(If necessary, lead fish and winches are required to meet the needs of different water depths)

Disadvantages of water collector sampling:
The sampling volume is limited, and when the demand is large, it must be completed by repeated sinking and collection. When collecting water samples of different depths, the operation is complicated, the efficiency is low, and the water depth in emergency environments cannot be guaranteed.
Typical applications of peristaltic pumps include water treatment. We are very familiar with the supporting applications in water quality testing. Similarly, peristaltic pumps can also be used for deep water sampling. The operation is stable and simple, which improves the sampling efficiency and guarantees the testers’ Safety at Work.
Self-priming is a major advantage of the peristaltic pump. The self-priming peristaltic pump is used to replace the traditional water collector for deep water sampling. The water sample can be directly injected into the sampling bottle through the sampling tube. Compared with the traditional sampling method, the peristaltic pump room is used. There are multiple advantages to deep water sampling.
Advantages of peristaltic pump deep water sampling and operation precautions

Advantage

●The system is easy to operate and easy to pump
●Sustainable water pumping to meet large flow sampling
●One job, adjustable to obtain multiple depth samples
●Small cross-section of pipe diameter, less affected by water flow
●It can be used in the rapid hydrological environment, and the work is stable

Operation precautions

●Water collection system needs to be equipped with peristaltic pump with waterproof design
●Head range, select the suitable peristaltic pump model
●Flush the pump tube and sampling bottle in advance to ensure the originality of the sample
●Move down the cable length of the winch to control the sampling depth
●A coarse filter should be installed at the water inlet to avoid clogging of the nozzle
